HipCrime CENSORSHIP alert:

There's a new complaint tactic brewing on the InterNET, and it's NOT a pretty one. A small but vocal group of people, CLAIMING to have been victimized by this site, have formed a mailing list. The expressed intent of this list is to get HipCrime.com removed from the WWWeb. Granted, they may not agree with everything they see here, but InterNET is built upon the concept of free-exchange of data (which often involves some level of disagreement). Consider that: If you try to put a stop to anything you don't like (saying how you've been "victimized" by it), then you can say that you support censorship and restriction of information. If you allow someone to do something you DISAGREE with, then (and ONLY then) can you say that you support the ideals of free-expression. If find this brand of net-censors particularly disgusting, please write a note to the below mentioned list: --------------------------------------------------------- On Thursday 10 Apr 1997, Steve Frampton wrote: To: HipCrime Victims Mailing List
Hello everyone: I was getting really confused trying to keep track of everyone who has been involved in the recent e-mail abuse (allegedly) perpetrated by the individual who runs HipCrime. Therefore I have started the following e-mail pseudo-list: hip-victims@mail.flarc.edu.on.ca Any e-mail sent through this list will be reflected appropriately. This list will help to keep track of everyone who was victimized by the perpetrator (either directly, or indirect via 3rd party SMTP relay of e-mail bombs). If you do not wish to be on this list, by all means send me an e-mail at any time and I will delete your name from the list. Enough people have been victimized by this person and I am probably not alone in wanting this person brought to justice. Thanks..
