Animation Sampler excerpts
The two scenes above are studies in placing light sources within transparent or translucent fractalized objects. They were excerpted from Stark Raving Math's "Animation Sampler", as provided to the International Festival of the Image 1993-95, Psychic TV video & projections, the producers of the film "Synthetic Pleasures", etc. They were 3D modelled in 1993 using the Persistence of Vision raytracer (POV). Animation frames were rendered with the help of ANI-MOVE (my own C program, to conrtol/coordinate camera and object movements). Color palette modification and Image post-processing was done with PICLAB, from Lee Daniel Crocker and the Stone Soup Group. The "loop flicks" were put together with Dave's Targa Animator (DTAX). Later, the individual frames were placed into multi-image GIFs with the GIF Constructor Set from Alchemy Mindworks.
